Ummm...HEY!

I'm Jen. Does anyone remember me?

Here I am. In Oklahoma. Enjoying some wide open spaces. Not really. Some days I like it, some days I don't. It just depends on the day. I have been here about a month and a half. I have finally made one friend. And if it wasn't for my mother and father forcing me to contact their insurance agent's random brother who happens to be a professor here, I would not have that one friend. Who would have guessed his son would have a bachelor's degree in psychology and be in the same exact program I am in? Saturday, I drank lots of beer. That old familiar feeling of alcohol coursing through my veins was much needed.

My first week here, I was hired as a hotel housekeeper. I took the first job I could get, and I paid dearly. I worked there a month and only had two days off. TWO. Everyday when I came home, I could barely walk. After those days of 100+ heat, I became dehydrated, and I lost from 116 to 108 pounds. I was feeling pretty sickly for a while, but eventually my delicate body somewhat adjusted to grueling manual labor. On the positive side, I can eat whatever I want. I have put a couple of pounds back on, but all my pants are still too big and I had to go buy new clothes for my nice new office job (at the community mental health center) where they have an air conditioner and pay more than $3.00 an hour. I will look back on my first job in Stillwater with some fondness though, because the people I worked for and with were the first people I met when I came to Stillwater. I'll always remember them, and they will always have a special place in my heart.

Mr. Darcy and the rats are doing great here. It's just sad that we are all going to die in a few months when tuition takes all the money away and I can't afford to feed us anymore. We have all gotten much closer since I have not had any people friends until recently. I'm experiencing some hunger pains. Think I'll go eat something really fattening.
